What can the OSU ID Card do?

Your OSU ID Card provides access to the following services. Different fees may apply based on student, staff, faculty, or other card status.

  • Athletic Events
  • Valley Library
  • Campus Dining and Coffee Shops*
  • Campus Convenience Stores*
  • Student Involvement (class notes)
  • Craft Center (supplies, fees)

You will need to have or be able to get a photo of yourself, and you will need a government-issued ID. Acceptable forms of government-issued IDs are:

  • State-issued driver’s license or instructional permit
  • State-issued ID
  • Passport/Visa
  • Military ID
  • Permanent residence card

Yes! Please fill out the OSU ID Request Form and then upload a photo of yourself and a government-issued ID to mycard.oregonstate.edu. There will be a $25 initial card fee charged to your student account.

Orange Cash allows you to spend money at OSU campus locations. Some locations give discounts to those who spend Orange Cash there.

You can use Orange Cash at the Valley Library and any on campus food locations. Some locations offer a 10% discount - See Food @ OSU for participating locations. 

You can load Orange Cash to your account by coming to the ID Center, going to the Orange Cash loading station in the Valley Library, or by going to mycard.oregonstate.edu.

Yes. You can go to the mycard.oregonstate.edu website to add friends and family members to your account. To do this, click the “Grant Additional Access” link on mycard.oregonstate.edu and add in your friend or family member information.

Yes. Please fill out the Orange Cash Closure form to start the refunding process. 

No. Your OSU ID Card is yours and yours alone, and your card will be confiscated and you will be charged a $30 misuse fee if someone other than you uses it. If you think someone tried to use your card and you didn’t authorize it, please contact us.

You should deactivate your OSU ID Card on mycard.oregonstate.edu to prevent anyone from using your Orange Cash or your building access. Replacement cards cost $30. If someone turns in your ID card, we will let you know and hold it for 90 days before it gets destroyed.

No. Your OSU ID Card should work for the entire time you are at OSU.

You can come into the ID Center to troubleshoot your card, and if necessary we will replace it at no additional cost.

The new OSU ID Card (which is also referred to as an Orange Card) has a new chip inside for our buildings, as our buildings have installed new card readers. The OSU ID Cards printed before July 2019 won’t work on these new card readers.

Yes. You will need to contact the building manager of the building you’re trying to get into. They will be able to give you the access you need.

Yes. You and your spouse and/or dependents can fill out this form or come into the ID Center and fill out a form for an affiliate OSU ID Card. Please note that there will be a $30 fee for each affiliate card.

Not quite. You pick up and drop off of keys at the ID Center. If you have any questions about the specific keys, want to request keys, or need to get a replacement key, you will need to contact the Key Shop.

You will need to either upload a photo to mycard.oregonstate.edu or come into the ID Center to get your photo taken. On your move-in day you will be able to pick up your ID Card.

Yes. We take a passport photo and provide you with two of the photos for $10.

We do passport and visa photos for all countries.
