Chief Shanon Anderson became OSU’s Associate Vice President for Public Safety and Chief of Police in December 2020. Hailing from Skagit, WA, Shanon worked for the Seattle Police Department starting in 1992 and became a lieutenant in 2016, before coming to Corvallis. In her career, Chief Anderson has advanced police reform initiatives, conducted implicit bias trainings, and served as assistant commander at Washington State’s justice training commission. She believes in a policing model that emphasizes social service, community partnerships and positive engagement. Something to know about Chief Anderson is that she knows how to shear an Alpaca, which makes her a great fit at OSU!
