Brent Sumner holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Western Oregon University and he joined OSU in January 2020. Brent grew up in rural Oregon—his graduating class had only 16 people!—and he spent summers with the Forest Service fighting wildfires. This background of contributing to the public’s safety led him to the criminal justice field. Brent chose to join OSU because he wants to make improvements and contribute to building a new kind of public safety and police department.
