The provision of public safety on OSU’s Corvallis campus will undergo a transition when the Oregon State Police contract for licensed law enforcement services ends December 31, 2020. The Oregon State University Board of Trustees on April 3, 2020, voted to establish an OSU police department within the Corvallis campus Department of Public Safety.

Community Input

The Public Safety Advisory Committee is committed to collaborative and transparent community engagement while considering campus safety. Four listening and input sessions were held in March 2020, virtual listening and input sessions were held in April 2020 and feedback collected on a web-based comment form helped inform the Public Safety Advisory Committee's process to provide recommendations to OSU's leadership.
