The Department of Public Safety (DPS) offers two valuable training programs for the university community:
Citizens Academy: This engaging and informative program introduces participants to law enforcement topics such as patrol operations, crime prevention, and criminal investigations. It’s designed to foster transparency and build connections between DPS and the OSU community. The academy is scheduled every Wednesday from October 15th to November 19th, 4 PM to 6 PM, at Cascade Hall.
Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Course: RAD is a nationally recognized self-defense program focused on awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance. The course spans three days, with each session lasting four hours (12 hours total). It provides participants with practical self-defense techniques in a supportive environment.
