Students will need to upload a photo of themselves and a government-issued ID to MyCard. The photo of themselves are used for their ID cards, and the government-issued ID is used to prove their identity.

All persons applying for an OSU ID card must come to the ID Center in person and present proper identification (Valid Driver's License, State ID Card, Military ID, Passport, or Residence Alien Card) for card issuance unless otherwise specified. You will receive your OSU ID card immediately after your photo is taken. Please be aware that a card fee may apply. Please choose the appropriate status category from the choices below for more information.

Incoming Students

Incoming Freshmen and Transfer students who attend START (summer advising and registration) will have their photos taken and receive their ID cards during their START session. Incoming students may also obtain their ID card one week before and throughout their first term of registration. For Fall term, registered students may obtain their ID card anytime throughout the summer as well.

All students will be charged a one time mandatory fee of $25 for their first card. This charge will appear on the student's billing statement. Please note that a replacement card costs $30.

Graduate and Professional Students

Graduate students may obtain their ID card one week before and throughout their first term of registration. For Fall term, registered graduate students may obtain their ID card anytime throughout the summer as well.

Readmitted Students

Students who re-enroll after an absence may obtain a new ID card, or in most cases, they may continue using their old ID card. Their ID card is automatically re-activated when they are registered for the current term.

Distance Education Students

Students who are studying off campus may obtain their ID card as long as they are registered with OSU. They may request a non-photo ID card to be mailed to them by calling or emailing the ID Center anytime after they have registered for classes. 

Dual Admission/Enrollment Students

Students who have dual admission status with OSU and one of several Oregon Community Colleges may obtain their OSU ID card even if they are only registered for classes at the Community College. They have access to library and computer lab resources at OSU, but not to student fee funded facilities and services such as Recreational Sport.

Faculty/Staff & Temporary Employees

Regular Faculty, Classified Staff, and Temporary Employees may obtain their OSU ID Card at the ID Center. You will need to bring state or government issued (driver's license, passport) identification and a copy of your welcome letter. Your welcome letter will be sent to you and your payroll coordinator by email. The letter will contain your OSU ID number and your classification. If you are non-temporary faculty or staff, and you did not receive a welcome letter, you may still come to the ID Center, but we cannot issue an ID card until Human Resources has processed your paperwork. A copy of the welcome letter is required for temporary employees to have an ID card issued.

Courtesy Faculty

are eligible for a Courtesy Faculty ID card. You will need to bring with you proper identification and a copy of your welcome letter. Your welcome letter will be sent to you and your payroll coordinator by email. The letter will contain your OSU ID number and your classification. We cannot issue an ID card until Human Resources has processed your paperwork.

Affiliate Faculty

may obtain their ID Card at the ID card office by bringing the letter of Notice of Affiliate Faculty Status received from their department to the ID Center along with proper photo identification. 

Affiliate of a Spouse, Domestic Partner, or Dependents

The spouse, domestic partner, or dependent of current OSU Students, Staff, and Faculty can use the Affiliate Card for checking out Valley Library materials, membership purchase and entry at Dixon Recreation Center, and certain Athletic ticket discounts.

Both the OSU Student, Staff, or Faculty member and their spouse, domestic partner, or dependent must bring photo ID to the ID Center and sign an Affidavit of Marriage or an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership. OSU requirements for Domestic Partnership status are available at the ID Center. Affiliate ID card fee is $30.00. The affiliates card expires when the OSU Student/Employee leaves OSU.

Associate Information

Permanent employees of certain organizations and governmental agencies that are housed on OSU campuses and provide teaching, research or funding for OSU programs are eligible for an Associate ID card. Associates are eligible to purchase Recreational Sports (Dixon) memberships, ONID (OSU Network ID) accounts, OSU Card Cash account, and checking out materials at Valley Library. Associates are not eligible for free Corvallis Transit bus rides, remote access to Valley Library databases or interlibrary loan privileges. Associate ID card fee is $30.00.
