The Department of Public Safety is seeking a Compliance Officer. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, Public Safety professional position.

As a member of the Clery Act Compliance Team within the Department of Public Safety, the Compliance Officer provides analytical, evaluative, and administrative services to support university compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). Examples of responsibilities include reviewing incident reports for the purpose of classifying and compiling crime statistics, creating compliant and visually engaging reports/media, developing applicable policies and procedures, gathering crime data from local law enforcement, and providing guidance to constituents about compliance issues.

With the goal of supporting a university philosophy that values compliance, integrity, accountability and inclusivity, the compliance officer assists multiple university departments, including but not limited to the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access, the Office of the General Counsel, the Department of Public Safety, and University Housing and Dining Services in the development of policies, procedures, and programs that are centrally compliant with the Clery Act and the Higher Education Opportunity Act.
